A pot of grass grows in Brooklyn... and then dies
Chairs
The chairs are still not here. Apparently, they haven’t even shipped yet.
19 minutes on average

I've been keeping track of how long it takes me to drive through Staten Island. On average it takes 19 minutes. It seems much longer.
Chair Delay
The chairs are on back order. They may arrive in 2 weeks. I'm waiting to paint the table till the chairs arrive because I hope that the pretty yellow color I didn't pick out will still work.
Another picture of Greece

Another co-worker went to Greece for her vacation.
I'm just going to go to Croatia in August.
Grass
I've now had a pot of grass for 2 weeks. And it's already annoying me because I've cut it twice now.
Restaurants...
Ben actually visited this blog and wanted to know why I didn't post about the restaurant a group of us went to on Saturday night. I didn’t post about it because this blog is not about what I do on a daily basis or restaurant reviews - it's about what lurks in the recesses of my brain. If you havn't figured it out, it's all about tables and chairs.
We ordered the light gray chairs. They will arrive within a week or so.
And in case you were wondering, the food was excellent.
Chair obsessed

Because I'm now chair obsessed, I fixed up Ben's old Rutgers surplus chair.
'Hoods
On Saturday we visited the following Brooklyn neighborhoods: Park Slope, Fort Greene, Boreum Hill and Williamsburg. Lots of stuff but no chairs that we would buy. So it looks like we are getting the chairs I mentioned below. Now we have to decide on a color. Light gray seems to be edging out light green.
Chairs
We are on the hunt for new cheap comfy chairs. The top contender is
this chair. It's comfy, funky and light (weight-wise). We'll see if we come up with anything else this weekend. But until we have the final chairs, or at least the idea of them, I can't paint the table.
Much better

This just looks better. Now to get rid of the current chairs and get some nice new ones that don't hit the mid-point of your back.
The new and old together

The new leg next to the old one.
Legs!
The new legs for the table arrived! Pictures to come.
Kitchen action
Somehow, we went from two rice scoopers to three. And I don’t know how. I opened the drawer today and instead picking between the bamboo scooper and the plastic scooper, there was a third one there - a new bamboo one. Both Ben and I are very confused. My theory is that two other rice scoopers got together and had some unprotected fun. Which would then make plastic a recessive characteristic, like blue eyes.
Ben refuses to comment.
Almost done

Almost done sanding the top of the table. You can see the horrible table legs that will soon be replaced by pretty metal ones. It really takes very little to make me happy.
Table update
I just ordered new table legs but not from the Container Store. With these new legs, the all white idea for the table is out. Now the table top will be painted "rainforest dew" or what looks to be a light yellow. I didn't pick the color so it will be pretty. I'm only good with black.
The table will be done much earlier than planned because I won't have to sand the turned legs. Maybe tomorrow I'll go buy the paint and primer.
